Heron Cove Basketball Courts

The basketball courts at Heron Cove Park were identified in the Capital Improvement Plan for renovation in Fiscal Year 2025-2026. The courts have significant cracks from age. Condition photos are linked below.
The Town has contracted with Hemlock Construction for the renovation work. The scope of work will include the removal of the existing court, installation of a new asphalt court and new basketball hoops.
To prepare for the construction, an ADA-accessible pathway was installed during the adjacent pickleball court construction.
Work began in March of 2026, with the demo of the existing court. During the site work, an old sidewalk was found buried under the grass. The condition of the sidewalk needs be evaluated and, if in suitable condition, will be incorporated into a picnic area near the basketball court.
