Notice of Public Information Meeting – Remote

The Tolland Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a Public Information Meeting to discuss potential amendments to the Town’s commercial and industrial zoning regulations of the Tolland Village Area and Gateway Design District.  They are seeking opinions from the residents and businesses of the Town. Comments from the meeting will be considered in the formulation of a final draft of the regulation changes, to be presented at an official public hearing to be held sometime this spring of 2021.

The goal of this process is to have the zoning regulations be more usable for economic development, as recommended in the Plan of Conservation and Development. Changes in procedures and permitted uses are being considered. Also under consideration is a new concept, the use of master planning.  It would supplement traditional zoning in certain circumstances to facilitate some flexibility, resulting in better design.
